Eleni Anthopoulou is a pharmacist and holds a PhD from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), with research focus in Experimental Pharmacology (Psychoneuropharmacology), as well as an MSc in Public Health (National School of Public Health, Athens). She has undergraduate and postgraduate research experience in preclinical psychoneuropharmacology at the University of Milan, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) at Saint Elizabeths Hospital (Washington, D.C., USA), and the Laboratory of Experimental Pharmacology (Medical School of Athens). Her professional expertise focuses on clinical research, with a long-standing career in the pharmaceutical industry and CROs, followed by service at the Hellenic National Organization for Medicines (EOF) (July 2016–December 2021). She has authored publications in international and Greek scientific journals and has presented preclinical and clinical research at national and international conferences. She is a speaker in postgraduate programmes and professional training seminars on bioethics, clinical research, pharmacovigilance, and related topics.

Efstathia Giannopoulou holds a BSc in Chemistry (University of Patras) and completed her MSc and PhD studies in Molecular Pharmacology at the University of Patras, School of Pharmacy. She has extensive academic and research experience, having served as Principal Investigator and Head of the Clinical Oncology Laboratory (University of Patras, School of Medicine) from 2003 to 2016, including responsibilities as Quality Manager and Technical Manager for ISO 17025 accreditation and maintenance. In 2016, she worked as a Clinical Trials Coordinator at the Hellenic Society of Medical Oncology (EOPE) and as Managing Editor for EOPE publications. Panagiota-Efstathia Nikolaou, PharmD, PhD
Postdoctoral Researcher
Panagiota-Efstathia Nikolaou is a high-honours graduate of the Department of Pharmacy, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). She is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Laboratory of Pharmacology of NKUA, where she has been actively involved in research since 2015. Her research focuses on the mechanisms of cardiotoxicity and cardioprotection, with particular emphasis on ischemia/reperfusion injury and heart failure. In collaboration with the Therapeutic Clinic of the Medical School of NKUA, she has developed expertise in translational research on rare plasma cell dyscrasias, particularly light-chain (AL) amyloidosis. She has participated in numerous national and international research collaborations with leading academic institutions in Greece and abroad, including University College London, the National Amyloidosis Centre (UK), Radboud University Medical Center (Netherlands), and research institutes in Germany. Her work includes the development and application of in vitro and in vivo experimental models, advanced proteomics, metabolomics and imaging techniques, as well as studies with high translational impact. She is actively involved in internationally funded research projects aiming to improve the diagnosis of AL amyloidosis and to evaluate novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. She has presented her work at national and international scientific conferences and has authored publications in peer-reviewed international journals in the fields of cardiovascular and translational research. In parallel with her research activity, she has teaching experience in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Pharmacology, Toxicology and novel cardiovascular drugs, and actively participates in science communication and gender equality initiatives in research.
